Jennifer is a California state licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and massage therapist. Her acupuncture specialization is in orthopedics and pain management. She is also experienced in treating internal medicine conditions using Canonical Chinese Herbalism. Using herbal formulas she treats many conditions, such as women’s health and fertility, digestion, migraines, allergies, and respiratory ailments, including quick resolution of colds and flus.
Jennifer’s bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida is in Dietetics, and she received her Massage Therapy Certification from Lifestream School of Massage in 2001. She completed her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz in 2010, and completed an externship at the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China.
Jennifer a two year Integrative Orthopedic Acupuncture course of study with Anthony Von Der Muhll, L.Ac, DNBAO. Her comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine background integrates western diagnosis of musculo-skeletal disorders with eastern treatment principles. In addition to traditional acupuncture, Jen utilizes cupping (myofascial decompresion), dry needling, prolo-acupuncture, gua sha, massage and taping in her treatment of pain and injuries. She combines this knowledge of ancient eastern and modern western concepts to specialize in sports medicine, orthopedics, pain management, and scar tissue repair.
Jennifer is a Diplomat in Canonical Herbal Medicine from the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine, where she studied with Dr. Arnaud Versluys. L.Ac., Ph.D. Canonical medicine refers the us of exclusively Han Dynasty (206 BC-221 AD) medical texts. These are the foundation for all modern Chinese medicine, and these herbal formulas remind the body of its natural function, and restore the instinct for self-healing.
